What I and i've found others look for more is proof of skill, a github (or the like, gitlab, bitbucket etc) is MUCH better at showing off your skills than some certificate. Not from where I am sitting, and I have been involved in hiring people a number of times, in my current and past roles. Some folks find the structure of school or a bootcamp helps with that, I do not, I also am loath to pay for soemthing I can get for free.ĭoes it give you a leg up in the industry to have that bootcamp certificate ![]() Yes you can! It's not that hard to find the info, or tools, the hard part comes in having the discipline to focus and keep at it. I am a mostly self-taught dev, working as a senior software engineer, so I might have some biases.
